How to choose your fibre package

Now that you’ve seen how easy it is to get fibre installed, our team of experts at Find My Fibre would like to give you further insight into how to choose the package that suits your needs.

Data Package (Gigs)

The data package refers to how much data can be uploaded to, or downloaded from, the internet. This is usually stipulated in “Capped” packages where the amount of data is restricted to an agreed monthly limit for a particular price. Once the cap is reached, the user is charged for any data used over and above the cap. With “Uncapped” packages, the amount of data is unlimited and greater data usage does not result in additional monthly charges.  The factors that will affect your choice of data package includes the number of people using internet on the property, the number of devices connected to the internet on the property and the type of activities that are most frequently engaged in making use of the internet. We have created a table below to guide you.

* Keep in mind that your phone, tablet and computer each count towards this column (that’s 3 devices for a single person)

Line speed (Mbps)

The line speed is the maximum speed that your internet can support and this will impact the amount of time that it takes for you to access the content you would like to read, watch, play or listen to on the internet. This will also determine whether or not you experience problems such as high latency, buffering or lag. For easy reference, we have created another table to assist you to choose what line speed will suit your internet usage.
